I took a vacation to NYC at the end of March. I finally got to visit the High Line and Guggenheim Museum. I also made an impromptu trip to the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). If you haven’t visited any of these locations, do it. Even on a rather drizzly overcast Saturday, the High Line is quite nice to visit and marvel at the transformation of an elevated railway into a 1.5 mile park! You’ll need a whole day, if not more, to take in the AMNH and all of its exhibits. If you only have a few hours, definitely check out an IMAX video and/or a showing in the Hayden Planetarium. Both were quite well-produced and enlightening.
The Guggenheim needs no introduction. The museum itself is a site to behold and explore. Its unique spiral structure makes it easy to view all of the pieces in a couple hours. Unfortunately, the overcast day did not make for very good architectural photos, so I’ll have to make another trek there when the weather is a bit more accommodating.
