I traveled to Quebec City this past weekend and stumbled upon the final showing of Cirque du Soleil’s Les Chemins Invisibles [The Invisible Paths]. To my astonishment and joy there was no one at the entrance checking bags or denying admission to folks with “professional” cameras. I have wanted to shoot a Cirque du Soleil show ever since I first saw Quidam in 2010. This weekend I finally got the opportunity! As you can see in the first shot below, the show was staged outdoors beneath an overpass, which was pretty cool. The technicians managed to actually rig some lighting and a couple of trapezes from the overpass as well. Not bad for a free show! If you haven’t seen a show by Cirque du Soleil, go see one. They are well worth the price of admission, which is not usually free.
